Best Banana Bread ever!!!
- 1 ¼ cups flour for Banana Bread
- ¼ cup almond flour
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 3 medium (ripe) bananas
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¼ cup olive oil
- Combine flour, almond flour, baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Make a well in center of dry mixture
- Mash bananas with a fork
- Add egg, sugar and olive oil to mashed bananas and mix
- Put mashed banana mixture into the center of the dry mixture. Stir all ingredients together. Do not over stir, this will be lumpy
- Pour mixture into a greased 8×4 or 9×5 loaf pan
- Sprinkle top of banana mixture with cinnamon sugar
- Bake at 350 degrees for approximate 50-55 minutes or until tested with toothpick comes out clean
- Cool in pan for 5-10 minutes then run a butter knife around edges, gently tip pan to remove banana dessert
- Let banana dessert cool on wire rack for 20 minutes before slicing

Tips for Perfecting Banana Bread
This recipe can easily modified by what you have available in your pantry
If you don’t have almond flour use 1 ½ cup regular flour
Fold in approximately ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans if you prefer a banana nut bread
Replace olive oil with any liquid cooking oil you like
If you want a citrus flavor for your Banana Bread add 1 tsp grated lemon or orange to the dry mixture
It is easier to slice the Banana Bread the day after you make it
Over ripe bananas make the sweetest Banana Bread and a great way to use leftover bananas
For a more spice flavor, sprinkle the top of Banana Bread with ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice mixed with ⅛ cup sugar prior to baking
If you want to make a banana cinnamon swirl bread – simple mix ⅓ cup sugar with 1 TBSP cinnamon in a bowl. Then when filling the loaf pan with banana mixture, fill it half way, sprinkle cinnamon sugar then fill loaf pan with remaining Banana Bread mixture. Bake and cool like regular Banana Bread, however be careful removing Banana Bread from loaf pan.
For a rum infused banana dessert reduce oil to ⅛ cup and and add ⅛ cup rum
For a chocolate chip banana loaf simply fold in ½ cup chocolate chips to the batter and bake like regular Banana Bread. This will stick more to the loaf pan. Gently remove after chocolate chip banana loaf is cooled

When I was growing up Banana Bread was always an item included with every party cookie tray at every family event. This included holidays like Christmas, Easter and of always at special religious occasions. It brings back very fond memories of my childhood.
Over the years I have made many different varieties of banana loaf desserts, and I believe this recipe is the best and easiest to make. It has the texture and flavor to become an all time family favorite.
The most difficult part of this recipe is waiting for the Banana Bread to finish baking in the oven! The entire house will fill with the most wonderful aroma of this yummy dessert and have your family coming to the kitchen asking when will the banana dessert be done.
I warn you that you will want to slice in and taste this wonderful dessert right out of the oven, however it tastes best if you wait until it cools. If you are making this for an event, consider making it the day before because it will be so much easier to slice.
