I prefer using ©Starbucks Pikes or Sumatra coffee. There is always that extra special richness using a dark roast coffee. However you can use whatever type of coffee you prefer, including decaffeinated coffee.
Consider changing up the spices or the amount of each spice. If you want to really spice it up you can add a pinch of chili powder – it gives the Holiday Spice Coffee that extra kick
By using skim milk as the only additional item, you have a wonderful holiday beverage that is low calorie and low fat! A perfect addition to a small book club meeting
If you want to make this into a more decedent dessert type drink, go ahead and add some of your favorite whipped cream. Consider adding flavored whipped cream as a perfect topping. Did someone suggest mocha whipped cream?
You can also add a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the coffee in the filter basket to make a Mocha Spice Coffee – YUMMY!
This is a perfect holiday beverage for a Christmas Party or just just sitting at home, in front of your fireplace relaxing

To really change this recipe and create a more dessert type coffee, definitely add cocoa powder to your coffee as it is being brewed. This gives you that oh so awesome chocolate, spice taste at a fraction of the calories or fat! If you want to add a little drama to your coffee consider a bit of whipped cream to top off the Holiday Spice Coffee. There is nothing like a little bit of whipped cream to dress up this beverage.
