  • ⅔ cup butter (melted)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
  • ½ cup pecans (chopped) optional


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, or 325 degree in a convection oven
  2. Melt butter in the microwave or in a pan on the stove to begin the Chocolate Chip Chewy Bar Cookies recipe
  3. Mix the butter, sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla, and baking powder with a mixer in a bowl until the mixture is slightly fluffy

I use organic sugar for this recipe.  You can substitute and mix 1 cup brown sugar with 1 cup of regular sugar if you prefer

Other nuts can be substituted for pecans in this recipe.  Try walnuts, peanuts, almonds or cashews.
